About the Enthusiast

I have passion.  I just wasn’t blessed with A PASSION.

I have friends that are doctors, lawyers, professional athletes, mothers, writers, nurses, and so on.  They have found the “thing” that fulfills them and makes them happy.  I both love and hate them for it.  I have been a salesperson, bartender, educator, product manager, dog walker, executive director and managing editor – yet I still don’t know what I want to do when I grow up.  I’m not even sure if growing up is on the short list of interests.  I have passion for the things I am doing at the moment, but my tenacity for things is short-lived.

I have finally succumbed to the age-old idea that my passion is in the journey not the destination.  Since that line does nothing for me, I would rather define myself as a “Jaywalker”.   Recklessly crossing life’s designated roadways to check out what’s happening on the other side of the street.

Since my passions are sometimes fleeting, a blog seems the most natural and unnatural place to document this journey and share these passions.

Hi! Thanks for visiting my blog and liking my post. I’m in the same boat as you when it comes to passion and not knowing what I want to do when I grow up. I think my problem is is that there is too much to do in life– what to do first? My dad once told me that my husband would always be stable, but that I would always have the adventure. Not quite sure what he meant by that.

    • Ha! I love your dad. And I have to say, my husband is stable (for the most part, and in the ways that are important.)

I don’t have the lack of passion thing figured out, but I do know that I need to work hard at everything I do. It makes my lack of true focus less obvious.

Just came across your blog. Good shit.
Your talent and passion would be wasted doing “one thing”
I hope i never do one thing either.
